Lyle did a lot for so many people. He will be greatly missed.
Carin, I hope you are doing well. I remember I told you MANY years ago, that you were going to flunk if you didn't study your spelling words, but I am sure you have done well. I was sorry to see your step father passed away. I was your 6th grade teacher.
What an interesting man! My husband and I first met Jan and Dean in 2013 when I started attending a Caregiver Support Group at the Adult Wellness Center. My husband was diagnosed in 2010. The two of them offered us much support and insight into Alzheimer's Disease. We started walking with them annually in the Walk To End Alzheimer's in 2014. They were such a lovely couple with a passion for life, truly an inspiration to all who knew them.
I'm so sorry to hear of Dean's passing. He and Jan were very kind to my husband and me, as they were to everyone, when we attended church together several years ago. They were always such an enthusiastic and sincerely compassionate couple. Jan, I am so very sorry for your loss. Reading his obituary, I am struck by the losses and hardships he endured at such a young age suffering from depression, losing his wife and 2 of his daughters in an automobile accident, and his many years of military and community service. What joy he must have experienced flying with his son during this sad time in his life. He and Jan were such wonderful stewards of God's grace, and had servants hearts. They were a joy to be around. Rogers benefitted greatly with their dedication to many causes, especially the founding of the Adult Wellness Center. My sincere sympathies to Dean's family. He was an amazing man. I'm certain that his life left many ripples in the pond of other's lives. My prayers to you all that you find comfort in knowing that, and I hope that happy memories bring you peace.
Thoughts and prayers to the family! RIP Uncle Dean
Dean will be missed. Growing up at church Dean and Jan were always there to greet you at the door with a hug and smile. Praying for the family as Dean was surely welcomed with the words "Well done, good and faithful servant".
