Michaela Ann Kepka, Mike, age 71 passed away unexpectedly on December 31, 2020 due to natural causes. She was born on June 9, 1949, in Saint Louis, MO to Virginia and Chester Penski. She attended Xavier High School graduating in 1967. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Missouri- St. Louis. She married John Francis Kepka on November 17, 1979 at Our Lady Queen of Peace in House Springs, MO. They had two children, Katy (Katharine) and JP (John Paul). She enjoyed living in Cedar Hill after her retirement with her husband until his passing in 2018. She spent the rest of her time in northwest Arkansas with her daughter’s family. For many years Michaela worked at J.A. Glynn, and Enterprise Bank in trust operations. Michaela loved her family fiercely. She was extremely proud of both her children. She loved watching them grow up and supporting them during their time as short track speed skaters. One of the highlights of her life was traveling to Italy for the Olympics in 2006 to see her son compete and win a bronze medal in the 5000m Short Track Relay. Michaela loved and cherished her time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling to the beach, where she spent many vacations over the last several years relaxing and just loving life. She was kind, you could talk to her for hours and you knew that she heard you. She was a faithful St. Louis Blues fan and loved her Polish heritage, snowmen, and her Catholic faith. Michaela was a joy for anyone to be around and she will be greatly missed by family and friends. We will fill the heartbreak of losing her with her love and the beautiful memories we have of her. Michaela is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Katy and Adam, son and daughter-in-law JP and Caroline; grandchildren, Joanna Caitlyn, Luke James, Matthew Tyler, and Evan Michael; and many cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband. Please join us at a later date, as we plan to celebrate her life. Details will be made available when appropriate. In memory, donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
