Robert (Bobby) Steven Brown, 62, was born Oct 31, 1956 and passed away January 22, 2019, in Rogers, surrounded by family, friends, and the love of his life, Kathy Ellerman.
Bobby was born in Memphis, Tenn and spent his youth in Rogers. As an adult, he crisscrossed the states and part of Canada in his career as a salesman and promoter. His passion for sprint cars took him to Florida where he worked as a promoter for the EAST BAY RACEWAY sprint car track.
Bobby met Kathy while pitching East Bay to Buddy’s Rentals, Inc. Buddy’s bought advertising and Bobby wrangled a date with Kathy. Together, they spent the next years canoeing, kayaking, camping , snorkling and fly fishing on the myriad rivers and bayous of Florida to the clear waters of the Bahamas. Bobby brought Kathy to visit his Arkansas friends and family and explore the haunts of his youth.
Bobby returned to Rogers following the death of his mother in 2008. Kathy joined him in 2016. Always the life of the party, Bobby loved to entertain. He and Kathy hosted friends and family for Razorback games and Bar B Q’s. Summer days were spent on the War Eagle, Mulberry, Buffalo and White Rivers. Bobby was an avid marksman and enjoyed his collection of firearms. Bobby, Kathy and friends met each Saturday morning for breakfast, a ritual that continued until curtailed by Bobby’s declining health.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents FG and Oneida Larimore; Doris Larimore; and Dr. and Mrs. Jim Waldron. He is survived by Kathy Ellerman; daughter Shelby Brown; brother Jim Brown and wife Sharon; sister Lynn Stanberry and husband Darrell; nephews Robert Brown and wife Leslie and Tyler Brown and wife Chelsea; Jay Stanberry, Adrian Kearny, Matt Henley and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Bobby hoped his friends and accomplices will remember him for the many laughs and misadventures they shared.
