Memorial for Laura J. Henke
Service information has not yet been posted.
Laura Jane Mitchell-Henke, beloved wife, mother and grandmother departed her loving family on February 5th, 2021 at the age of 67. Laura battled many health problems. She passed away peacefully at home. Despite her health, she always gave the best hugs. Her love for her family and sense of humor never wavered. She always seemed to know when someone needed words of encouragement or a hearty laugh. She was always there to cheer you on and encouraged her children and grandchildren to chase their dreams. She always said, “Anything is possible as long as you believe in yourself and you try.”
Laura loved unconditionally with her whole heart. Her laughter was contagious. She tried her best to prepare us for this day. I believe she knew it was coming, sooner than any of us were willing to accept. She asked that we smile through our tears, share our memories and remember the happy times. “I don’t want anyone to be sad, I want you to celebrate my life and keep my memory alive.” (Easy for her to say…)
Laura loved her family and cherished the moments that we could all be together making memories. She loved to sing, was an amazing artist and loved to cook. One of our greatest memories was mom and dad sitting together, dad playing the guitar and mom singing along. Mom and Dad were childhood friends. They found their way back to one another in 1983 and married on October 12th, 1984. They spent 36 years together in love and friendship.
Laura will be missed beyond measure. She is survived by her husband Dieter Henke, Children: Shelly Renee Bryant, Christine and Brian Rearick and Billy Wayne Golden, grandchildren: Crystal Holliman, Elizabeth Winn, Zachary and Chelsea Skaggs, Marquis and Jazmin Bryant Jr, Laura-Ashlynn and Haley Skaggs, Brooke and Tyler Ross, Jasmine Bryant, Nolan Golden, and Cameron Golden, and 11 great grandchildren, sisters and their families: Suzie Curtis, Dolly Kyle, and Janice Ward.
Laura was preceded in death by her loving mother Laura Mae Mitchell, her father “Ben” Mitchell, her brother David Mitchell and granddaughter Hailey Golden.
All whom loved her will never forget her wit, charm, grace and undying love for them.
